~The Siren's Song~

Stormy skies across the sea

Dark, forboding, mystic...

Haze shrouds the moon

Anticipating the impending squall

Winds exhale, waves thrash

Keeping him from his love

His lonely heart still filled with hope

That this voyage shall lead him home

Yet desire cannot quench

the thirst of an angry sea

It tosses his dreams

overboard into the depths of despair

Gasping for breath

he calls for God's mercy

to save him from this fate

Swirls of violent blue summon him

as he calls out his beloved's name

Blackness overcomes him

as he falls deeper into the abyss

Yet a strange calm

overcomes him as he fades away...

The song, how beautiful

how lyric it's tune

Is it his beloved

calling him?

Nay, it is fate

leading him to this deserted shore...

The siren's song

the Seductress of the deep

Calling him so sweetly...

Is he to be her victim

her bewitched

her lover damned?

He must think only of his love

Of her hair as the golden sun

Her eyes as the stars in the heavens

Her lips sweet as red wine

He sees the Nymph's illusion

as she pulls him into her dimension

Her beauty unsurpassed

Yet her heart decayed

He must not give into the seduction

It is evil though like nectar to his tongue

His desire strong as she kisses him

His passions rise his thoughts not his own

How strong be his love-

the remembrance of her face?

Will it conquer his mortal lust

and defeat the executioner's song?

A keepsake floats before his eyes

The locket he was to give his love

His soul renewed he takes it as he pushes her away

surfacing to meet his true destiny...

The Siren's powers now vanquished

by the strength of a loving heart

She retreats to her watery grave

to curse him no more

His beloved greets him as he awakens

Shipwrecked for days...was it all a dream?

Had his soul reached out for redemption?

Had the sea answered his call?

As he embraces his love he pledges

Faithfulness forever

They set sail to their new future

as in the distance, the song plays on...
